What is the social and economic significance of Union Station since it’s planning in 1901 till now?

There is a special connection that Union Station has with locals, tourists and politicians alike, and that is rare to see in Washingon D.C. I wanted to find out how and when this occured. I wanted to know if this was a new thing or if this had been its purpose from the beginning.

I found the research very interesting. I found all my primary sources first and thought, " I have no idea how all of these connect." It wasn't until I was looking at my seocndary sources that it all came together and I could link photos and items together.

With it being such a large topic it was hard to find a focus that could encompass so much. There is so much information out there, and I had trouble narrowing it down into what I would use.

I hope that through this project people are able to see a narrative that really encompasses the spirit of Union Station.
